MIKROKONTROLLER 

Sebenarnya apakah yang disebut dengan mikrokontroler?  Sebuah kontroler
digunakan untuk mengontrol suatu proses atau aspek-aspek dari lingkungan. Satu
contoh aplikasi dari mikrokontroler adalah untuk memonitor rumah. Ketika suhu naik,
kontroler membuka jendela dan sebaliknya. Pada masanya, kontroler dibangun dari
komponen-komponen logika secara keseluruhan, sehingga menjadikannya besar dan
berat. Setelah itu barulah dipergunakan mikrokprosesor sehingga keseluruhan
kontroler masuk kedalam PCB yang cukup kecil. Hingga saat ini masih sering kita lihat
kontroler yang dikendalikan oleh mikroprosesor biasa (Zilog Z80, Intel 8088, Motorola
6809, dsb). 

Proses pengecilan komponen terus berlangsung, semua komponen yang
diperlukan guna membangun suatu kontroler dapat dikemas dalam satu keping. Maka
lahirlah komputer keping tunggal (one chip microcomputer) atau disebut juga
mikrokontroler. Mikrokontrolere adalah suatu IC dengan kepadatan yang sangat tinggi,
dimana semua bagian yang diperlukan untuk suatu kontroler sudah dikemas dalam
satu keping, biasanya terdiri dari:

KOMPONEN SISTEM MIKROPROSESOR


4 Komponen Utama Sistem Mikroprosesor (ada yang mengelompokkan menjadi 5) :
1.      Mikroprosesor itu sendiri (MPU/Microprocessor Unit atau CPU/Central Processing Unit)
2.      Random Access Memory (RAM)
3.      Read Only Memory (ROM)
4.      Port Input/Output (PIO)
5.      Unit Detak (Clock Unit)
Saat bekerja, komponen tersebut saling berkomunikasi/mentransfer data. Media transfer datanya berupa sekelompok jalur-jalur penghubung yang disebut bus. Ada 3 jenis bus yang terdapat dalam sistem mikroprosesor, yaitu: bus alamat (address bus), bus data (data bus), dan bus kontrol/kendali (control bus).

  PENGERTIAN MICROPROCESSOR


Microprocessor adalah sebuah komponen rangkaian elektronik terpadu yang terdiri dari rangkaian aritmatik, logik dan kontrol yang diperlukan untuk menjalankan fungsi-fungsi sebuah CPU (Central Processing Unit) dari sebuah komputer digital. Rangkaian elektronika terpadu tersebut dapat menerjemahkan dan menjalankan instruksi dari sebuah program serta menangani operasi aritmatik. Microprocessor dikembangkan pada akhir tahun 1970 sebagai hasil dari teknologi LSI (Large Scale Integration), suatu rangkaian elektronik terpadu yang memungkinkan menggabungkan ribuan transistor, dioda, dan resistor pada sebuah chip silikon sebesar 5 mm persegi. Pada awal tahun 1980 teknologi VLSI (Very Large Scale Integration) berkembang sangat pesat dan digunakan sebagai rangkaian elektronik dalam sebuah microprocessor, yang mampu menggabungkan ratusan ribu komponen elektronik dalam sebuah chip yang mempunyai ukuran sama dengan chip LSI. Dengan semakin berkembangnya teknologi pembuatan microprocessor dan semakin murahnya biaya produksi yang digunakan, memungkinkan para insinyur komputer untuk mengembangkan microcomputer. Komputer semacam ini mempunyai ukuran yang lebih kecil daripada televisi portabel tetapi mempunyai kemampuan hitung yang cukup baik untuk dipakai dalam bisnis, industri dan ilmu pengetahuan.

Pengertian Jaringan
Seringkali kita mendengar kata internet, sekilas mungkin kita akan berpikir bahwa yang namanya internet merupakan sebuah jaringan yang sangat besar dan terdiri dari banyak kompuer. Atau bahkan bagi orang yang awam internet sering diartikan sebagai browsing, chatting, dan lain-lain.
Pengertian ini merupakan sebuah pandangan yang kurang benar. Karena sebenarnya internet adalah kumpulan dari jaringan-jaringan kecil dan besar yang saling terhubung secara real-time atau terus menerus di seluruh dunia.
Dalam suatu sistem jaringan, dimana seluruh komputer saling berbagi data dan resources satu sama lain sehingga tercapai efisiensi dalam pemanfaatan teknologi, amat dibutuhkan perangkat-perangkat khusus dan instalasi tertentu.
Pada bab ini akan dijelaskan beberapa peralatan yang digunakan dalam sistem jaringan serta pengaturan TCP/IP pada sistem operasi Windows.
